Introducing The Honorary: Why Create Another Skincare Line
The skincare industry has never had more options.
We can walk into a cosmetic retailer, open social media, or search for a solution online and be met with thousands of products promising everything we hope for. Clearer skin, fewer wrinkles, stronger barriers, hyperpigmentation reversal. A lot are excellent but the conflict can most leave consumers wondering who to trust.
For years, working as an esthetician, I found myself caught between two realities.
On one side were professional skincare lines with incredible formulations and results. On the other were clients who genuinely wanted to take care of their skin but couldn’t always justify spending hundreds of dollars every few months to maintain a routine.
At the same time, I watched many skincare brands become increasingly disconnected from the professionals who helped build them. Products have been appearing online at discounted prices. Yet us estheticians invest in education, inventory, and marketing only to find clients purchasing the same products elsewhere for less, often times directly from the brand themselves. Some of these companies require large opening orders or expensive educational commitments before allowing professionals access to products which gatekeeps from the small businesses who have just as much heart.
The Honorary was created to bridge the gap between a sturdy formula for the user, an assessable price point for both the client and the provider, and importantly keeping providers at the heart of what we do.
The Question That Started Everything
The idea began after spending over a year researching new lines to bring into my spa to meet my clients needs. After so much disappointment with retail prices, high buy ins, continued maintenance costs to keep accounts open, and so much more I gave up. Then I just said “fuck it, ill make what I need.”
Now asking myself could I make a line feel beautiful and ritualistic without luxury pricing?
Real skincare. Thoughtful. Designed to support healthy skin function. I don’t need to start by shaking up the industry with the latest. newest, cool ingredients. The basics are just as valuable and highly important for a consistent routine.
The deeper I looked, the more I realized this was possible.
Many affordable products sacrificed quality in some way. It could be the design, the packaging, or even the formula.
The Honorary became an attempt to build something different.
Skincare Should Be Accessible
One of the biggest misconceptions in skincare is that results come from finding the most expensive product. In reality, results often come from consistency. A retinol someone can afford to repurchase every few months can be just as valuable as the one they can only purchase once.
Healthy skin is built through habits. While creating The Honorary, every piece is evaluated through that lens.
Would someone realistically use this? Could they repurchase it? Would it fit into a routine they could maintain long-term?
Because the best skincare routine is often the one you can actually stick with.
For Clients Who Love Skincare
The Honorary is created for people who genuinely enjoy caring for their skin. Skincare can be something deeper than maintenance. For many people, skincare is one of the few moments in the day that belongs entirely to them. For me, its a personal ritual.
The products are designed to feel intentional. Something that looks beautiful on a vanity, feels satisfying to use, and encourages consistency through enjoyment rather than obligation.
For Estheticians, Too
The Honorary was never created solely for clients. It was also created for the professionals helping them.
Estheticians spend their whole careers developing their knowledge. We invest in continuing education, treatment training, certifications, inventory, and client relationships. Science continues to excel, what we love and know changes so the upkeep in education is a must. Us estheticians become trusted resources for skin health.
Yet increasingly, many professionals have found themselves competing against the very brands they support. Products appear on massive online marketplaces. Prices become inconsistent. Clients become confused. Professionals are losing trust in their once loved brands.
The Honorary was built with a different philosophy.
No massive opening orders. No unnecessary gatekeeping. No business model that relies on undercutting the professionals who recommend the products. The goal is partnership, community over competition.
Because we all deserve to support succeed together.
Why We Focus on the Fundamentals First
The skincare market loves novelty. Every year brings a new crazy ingredient, trend, or viral product. Healthy skin rarely depends on trends, it depends on fundamentals too.
That means:
Barrier support.
Hydration.
Controlled exfoliation.
Consistent sun protection.
Cellular communication.
Inflammation management.
Many of the products within The Honorary will focus on these foundational principles because healthy skin physiology remains the same regardless of what is trending.
The goal is to create products people reach for years from now.
Science Without Intimidation
One of the things I love most about skincare is the science behind it.
The skin is an incredible intelligent organ. It communicates constantly through inflammatory pathways, cellular signaling, regulation, immune responses, and healing mechanisms. Clients should not need a chemistry degree to understand what they’re putting on their face.
Educational when it matters but simple when it should be. Never ever talking down to the people we’re trying to help.
The Future of The Honorary
The Honorary begins with essentials. Products built around what you need and what we believe in. Designed to support real skin concerns while remaining accessible and enjoyable to use.
But this is the beginning!
As the brand grows, so will the collection and so will our investment into bettering ourselves along the way.
Every launch will be guided by the same questions that started this journey:
Does it work?
Is it accessible?
Does it support healthy skin?
Does it respect both the client and the professional?
If the answer isn’t yes, it doesn’t belong here.
A New Kind of Ritual
At its core, The Honorary is infact just a skincare line. But we are also an invitation to take care of yourself for a few minutes each day. To approach skincare as something more meaningful than maintenance and to create small rituals that support both skin health and self-care.
Because healthy skin is important.
But so is the experience of caring for yourself.
And we believe you deserve both.
